The Pearsall, Texas native was selected for his accomplishments as Superintendent at Wind Cave National Park in South Dakota. This included the transfer of bison from the park to Mexico as part of an international conservation project, implementing a elk management plan and protection of the endangered black-footed ferret. This award was created to recognize and foster creative innovative resource management support and direction in the National Park Service.
