Bio: 

Dr. Dan Richmond is a lecturer in the Department of Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Sciences at Texas A&M University, teaching courses in youth development. He received his PhD in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism at the University of Utah where he served as the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) Research Fellow. Dan’s research interests are related to outdoor adventure education, college readiness, the development of noncognitive factors, instructor effectiveness, and group dynamics. Dr. Richmond also holds an MBA from the University of Oregon. Prior to returning to school, Dan worked in public radio where he managed projects related to program evaluation, program development, fundraising, and volunteer training. Dan is also field instructor for NOLS, leading multi-week expeditions for youth each summer.
