The field trip “International Sustainable Rural Development” is offered upon demand. This field trip takes place in Costa Rica during the first Maymester and is approximately 8 days long. This trip seeks to expose students to a series of local development practices that rural residents in different parts of Costa Rica engage in to solve local problems they face. Some of the aspects studied are environmental issues, community-based tourism development, sustainable agriculture, parks, and youth.
