Each student is responsible for researching positions, contacting employers, and applying for jobs and volunteer positions that qualify for RPTS internship credit. Assistance in the search process is provided on this website, at the TAMU Career Center, and through individual contact with faculty.

Each student must work a minimum of 400 hours with an organization, government agency or company involved in aspects of tourism, event coordination, parks, recreation, youth development, community development, conservation or hospitality management. Students may serve in positions which are titled as internships as well as seasonal jobs with other titles (ie., Program Director, Front Desk Clerk, Events Assistant).

Positions may be paid, unpaid, or partially paid, and employers may choose to provide other benefits such as lodging and meals. Students are required to register and pay for 6 credits of RPTS 484 during the semester of their internship.
